To anyone who finds this journal:

I am just a simple man from a simple life. I used to keep watch at the gate and help process all the merchants coming into the capital and file paperwork regarding it. In a way, I had wanted to be like them, being able to freely come and go as they please without being tethered to one location like a hound on a leash. It took me a while, but I eventually made the decision and saved up some silver to buy some rations, this journal, and some ink, and then had finally set off on my quest: I will travel the world and record my interactions and other things of note. I have already thought about all that could happen to me as I venture out, so if anybody finds this journal, consider this a gift. Do what you wish with it, however I do hope you find some value with what I have written here.
